Finca Amrta is both a small nature reserve and a sustainable farm. It is located in the foothills of the Talamaca mountains in Costa Rica’s southern zone. Since Amrta’s conception in 1989, we have been dedicated to creating a model farm, which demonstrates the goals of sustainability and ecological land use.
Finca Amrta offers a weekly and monthly work exchange for those wishing to learn more about tropical agriculture, sustainability and healthful living practices. Get an in-depth view of organic shade grown coffee culture from seed propagation to brewing a cup. Roast you own hand picked coffee to share with friends and family. Work with a variety of medicinal plants and learn their uses.

The farm is situated approximately 130 km south of San Jose and 4 km West of San Isidro de El General. It is located near both the beaches of Dominical and the peaks of Chirripo.At 750 m, the farm has a pleasant climate averaging 75ºF with the dry season between December and March.A river bordering the property provides refreshing swims and the buildings are designed for cool living amidst luxuriant vegetation and colorful bird life.
